Whether you’re looking for red frame sunglasses, red lense sunglasses, or big red sunglasses they can be difficult to find simply because the color isn’t so popular. 95% of sunglasses that you will see are a black tint in color. The black color of sunglasses is most popular because black can go with anything where as you may have a bit more difficulty matching outfits with red sunglasses. The down side of the black sunglasses is that the color black attracts heat more than lighter colors like red do, so if you’re outside on a sunny day or laying out by the pool you can expect your black sunglasses to become much more hot than another color.
Another downside to darker colored sunglasses is they tend to break easier. This is due once again to how they attract and hold in heat. When something heats up it expands, then once it cools it contracts. The constant high expansion of darker sunglasses as compared to light shaded sunglasses can cause them to break much quicker than another pair. If you purhcase a high end pair of sunglasses then you most likely will not see any type of cracking due to intesnse heat simply because they are made with more durable material and not just cheap thin plastic.
Another thing to consider with the heat factor is this: have you ever been in the mall, come out to your car to put your sunglasses on only to find that they are so scaldingly hot it burns your ears and nose when you put them on? Black sunglasses are notrious for this. If you purchase a lighter colored pair of red sunglasses they will attract up to 20% less heat then darker colored sunglasses. Not to mention if you have red lense sunglasses you will attracting less heat as well. The overall solution to all of this would be to keep your sunglasses in your glove compartment or in a sunglasses case although this isn’t as convenient as just having them hanging above the vanity mirror so you can quickly put them on.
As mentioned previously red sunglasses stand out more than black sunglasses. Let’s face it, the reason why we put time into buying that nice shirt or shoes is so that we can feel good and stand out and have people notice us. If you’re just another face wearing black sunglasses then you’ll blend in more, but if you want to really be seen then you want to go with something different and colors that are bit brighter.
